Today, we launch #‎TakeOnHateWithYourVote. Let’s fight voter apathy!

Posted on August 15, 2016

Islamophobia, xenophobia and racism are not new phenomena. During this political season alone, we’ve seen negative campaigning based on tactics that are anti-immigrant, -refugee, -Arab and -Muslim, and otherwise racist rhetoric that spreads hate. This is not the time to be apathetic. We are at risk of losing our rights, our voice and our sense of community. This is the time to #TakeOnHateWithYourVote and become advocates for change.

Despite what may seem like a hopeless situation, we have the ability to take action and make our voices heard. Starting today until Nov. 8 (Election Day), we will highlight the voices of leaders, activists, historical icons and thinkers on the importance of voting and harnessing our collective power. We must galvanize our communities and fight for our shared values of safety, freedom, equality and unity.

We also call on you to participate in this campaign! Share stories on why voting, political action and consciousness are important to you.  From now until Election Day, share on social media how you #TakeOnHateWithYourVote. See a highlight of these stories below, or click here.
